Like Math.
There are a lot of things in life that are really hard for me (and you, I’m sure). We all want to avoid things that make our lives difficult. That’s the nature of the fall. Adam and Eve ran and hid themselves from the Omniscient. It wasn’t going to work.
Adam heard this:
“Cursed is the ground because of you;
In pain you will eat of it
All the days of your life.
Both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you;
And you will eat the plants of the field;
By the sweat of your face
You will eat bread,
Till you return to the ground,
Because from it you were taken;
For you are dust,
And to dust you shall return.” Genesis 3:17-19
Is Math therefore a result of the curse? By no means! But your animosity to math is certainly a result of the curse. If there is one subject in school that God could use to help you weed the garden in your future, it’s math.
Life is FULL of menial tasks (the wife calls it monkey work). Tasks that no one would ever choose to sign up for. Careers, childrearing, churchgoing, etc. Every aspect of life has some aspect of it that can lend itself to being hard. We’re just not good about changing our own attitudes toward what’s difficult.
Good news! Jesus is the answer. With repentance of our sin, His Spirit can renew our minds to put on a better attitude. About math, dishes, reading, or whatever you’re struggling with. Then, you’ll start to see math as a benefit to your future.
Math is used in everyone’s chosen life path. You can’t escape math. But I’m not even arguing for how it’s practical for your future. I’m arguing that it’s important that you do hard things. If math is hard for you, God will use it to prepare you for hard things in your future. Embrace it.

I still don’t like math. xD
