I battled headaches for a decade. Once or twice a week I would get one. If something was happening that day that I needed to be present for, I would take an Excedrin. I always hated doing it, but I do have responsibilities, you see.
I thought the issue was diet initially, so I stopped eating like a 3-year-old. Then, I thought I needed more water, so I brought my water bottle everywhere. Next, I made sure to get more sleep, about eight hours a night. After going to the doctor, I was told to take some vitamin D, so I started doing that. Then there was the chiropractor for a couple years. One doctor mentioned magnesium; took that. Getting my heart rate up would sometimes help, so I would do some cardio. Then I KNEW it was inflammation, so I was on some turmeric. I got rid of caffeine sometime in there, and I was off sugar so many times. Eventually, I bought a desk that you could stand at as well.
I do not recommend chronic illness, pain, or anything with the word chronic in it at all.
Here’s the rub: everything I tried above WORKED, initially. It was weird. I wanted a silver bullet SO BAD. And I got one every time, momentarily.
Oh, and I got glasses TWICE though I didn’t need them.
What was the solution you ask? Probably getting stronger. My back was weak, so I couldn’t stand up straight (and no one can sit up straight). My muscles were overworked constantly trying to keep my head up, which led to the tension headaches I was battling.
I bought a back brace in there somewhere as well, haha.
I’m not very strong as a person, but now, I’m strong enough. That’s my secret to serving God better. Be as strong as you need to be. It feels good to feel good.
I do think a lot of the above does help. I’ll probably have a post about each of them in time. I try to eat right; I stand at work; I still take vitamins everyday. My health was getting in my way of serving God. Is yours?
Do you have a habit that you know needs to go? Does your body feel good in the midst of all God has on your plate? I’m taking on another class next year because I’ve been feeling better. That’s (Lord willing) 20 more students I can point to Jesus.
Much of your health is within your control (not all). Don’t let your health keep you from dutiful service to God; life’s too short for all that.

wow! im amazed and convicted by this. its kind of like when a non believer tries to find happiness, they find it in some many other things and then they eventually find Jesus and now have found their happiness through him. i love this one!
